Article 2, to provide funding to repair the Sunderland Elementary
School in the amount of $4,100,000. The figure is an estimate based on
preliminary reports from the mold inspection and structural engineer and cost
estimates from contractors. Mr. Léger felt that the town was rushing back into
a school based on assumptions that may not be valid and time should be taken to
evaluate the building to see if the building is worth the expense, maybe it
needs to be replaced. Mr. Kelley stated that no action at this time will
indicate that there is no emergency and delay at this time will be costly and
will not allow use to be back in the building for September 2003. Motion to
recommend Article 2 Mr. Kelley Second for discussion Mr. Léger Vote 2-1 Mr.
