SOUTH COUNTY SENIOR CENTER UPDATES, FOOD PANTRY & NEW ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES

The South County Senior Center is sharing information from around the community, including new partnerships for the SCSC!

Administrative Offices Move: We’ve moved our Administrative Offices! Our new address is 22 Amherst Road (PO Box 225), Sunderland, MA 01375. Our phone number 413.665.2141 has remained the same.

DTA Partnership with UMass and SCSC: The South County Senior Center is now a partner with the Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance and UMass to be able to help our communities with SNAP applications. Chris Goudreau, our Outreach Coordinator, will be spearheading this project. If you or someone you know is in need of assistance with completing a SNAP (formerly known as Food Stamps) application, or to see if you qualify for assistance, please reach out to us at 413.768.1066 or 413.665.2141. We can schedule an appointment to meet with you. Feel free to email us too!

Food Pantry: Did you know the South County Senior Center offers a food pantry with nonperishable items? If you or someone you know is in need of food, please call us to make an appointment at 413.768.1066 or 413.665.2141. Our center offers a variety of items donated by our local communities and through a partnership with the Turner’s Falls Survival Center. Looking to donate food items, see the attached Food Pantry list of items we are gladly accepting.

Brown Bag Program: The South County Senior Center partners with the Food Bank of Western Mass to support older adults in our community. The Brown Bags are distributed on the first Thursday of each month at the Deerfield Town Hall, 8 Conway Street. You do need to register and be approved for this program. For an application, please contact our Outreach Coordinator, Chris Goudreau, at 413.768.1066 or our Director, Jennifer Remillard, at 413.665.2141. Once you are approved by the Food Bank of Western Mass you will have a bag available for you at pick up.
